The City of Diamond Bar opposes legislation that places additional barriers to local control. City Councils are elected to set policy and budget priorities, and to modify and determine what is best for the community in which they were elected to serve. Placing these barriers will not only place additional costs on local jurisdictions, but prevent timely and effective policy decisions from being implemented. For these reasons, the City of Diamond Bar is opposed to AB 438. Sincerely, Steve Tye Mayor, City of Diamond Bar CC: Curt Hagman, Assembly Member -60th District City Council League of California Cities Joe A. Gonsalves & Son
