A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DIAMOND BAR DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO GRANT
A FRANCHISE TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
COMPANY AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
ANY OBJECTIONS THERETO.
A. Recitals.
(i) Article 1 of Chapter 2 of Division 3 of the
California Public Utilities Code, commencing at Section 6201,
sets forth specific provisions for the granting of franchises for
certain purposes.
(ii) SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a
Corporation, has made application, in writing, to the City
Council of the City of Diamond Bar for a franchise to install,
maintain and use poles, wires, conduits and appurtenances for
transmitting and distributing electricity for any and all
purposes in, along, across, upon, over and under the public
streets, highways, alleys, roads and places, as the same may now
or hereafter exist, within the City of Diamond Bar.
B. Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is found, determined and resolved by
the Council of the City of Diamond Bar as follows:
SECTION 1. In all respects as set forth in the
Recitals, Part A, of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. It is the intention of this City Council to
grant, pursuant to the provsiions of Sections 6201 et seq., of
the California Public Utilities Code, a franchise in the manner

provided by law, to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY to
install, maintain and use poles, wires, conduits and
appurtenances for transmitting and distributing electricity for
any and all purposes in, along, across, upon, over and under the
public streets, highways, roads, alleys and places, as the same
may now or hereafter exist, within the City of Diamond Bar.
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby sets June 6, 1989,
at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard,
in the Council Chambers, 880 South Lemon Road, Diamond Bar,
California, as the time and place for a public hearing wherein
any and all persons having an objection to the granting of such
franchise may be heard.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Diamond Bar
hereby is authorized and directed to post a "Notice of Public
Hearing" in three (3) public places with the City of Diamond Bar,
pursuant to the provisions of Resolution 89-6, at least once
within fifteen (15) days of the adoption of this Resolution.
SECTION S. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 16th day of May, 1989.
