A RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND
BAR ADOPTING THE 1988 EDITION OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION AND 1985 EDITION OF THE STANDARD
PLANS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, members of the Southern California Chapters
of the American Public Works Association and the Associated
General Contractors of California working as a Joint
Cooperative Committee have prepared the 1988 Edition of the
Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and the
1985 Edition (First Edition) of the Standard Plans for Public
Works Construction; and
WHEREAS, a uniformity of standards will serve to
minimize conflict and confusion in public works construction
and will tend to lower construction costs for future public
works projects through competitive bidding by private
contractors; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works of Los Angeles
County was represented on the committee which prepared the 1988
Edition of the Standard Specifications for Public Works
Construction and the 1985 Edition of the Standard Plans for
Public Works Construction and recommends their adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Diamond Bar resolves that:
1. the 1988 Edition of the Standard Specifications
for Public Works Construction and the 1985 Edition (First
Edition) of the Standard Plans for Public Works Construction
prepared by the APWA-AGC Joint Cooperative Committee by
adopted.
certified copy of this resolution to the County's Director of
Public Works.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to
the County of Los Angeles.
