HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 89-100RESOLUTION #89- 100 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, IN SUPPORT OF APRIL 22, 1998 AS EARTH DAY AND AUTHORIZING' MEMBERSHIP IN THE GLOBAL CITIES PROJECT. WHEREAS, Earth Day 1990 will be a global demonstration of citizen concern for protection of the earth; and WHEREAS, Earth Day 1990 will be the product of a huge coalition, reaching far beyond existing environmental constituencies to involve the broadest cross-section of society; and WHEREAS, Cities can and must make major contributions to solving our environmental and natural resource problems through decisions affecting land use, transportation, solid waste, wastewater treatment, building codes and more; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, that the City of Diamond Bar: Section 1. Supports April 22, 1990 as Earth Day, the Global Cities Project. Section 2. Authorizes membership for the City of Diamond Bar in the Global Cities Project. PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Diamond Bar City Council of Diamond Bar, California this 17th day of October , 1989.
