Purs�aant to your request, this firm has provided this geotechnical report to summarize the
observation and testing performed by this firm for the swimming pooi backfill aperations at
the above referenced project. (�ur geotechnical services pertaining to the backfill are
summarized in the subseqcaent sections of this repaet.
Backfill Operatians
The existing pool shell was left intact and holes placed through the bottom ta allow for
drainage were observed by the City af Diamand Bar. The upper 2'h feet of#he pool walls
were removed. The fill area was approximately 10 feet by 35 feet with a maximum depth of
8 teet. Fi!! material placed were compacted to a minimum af 90°lo a#the laboratary standard
in lifts nat in excess of eight inches in thickness. A rubber ti�e loader was utilized for
compaction control. A water hose provided moisture control.

Laboratory/Field Testinq
The relative compaction was determined by Sand Cone Method (ASTM: D1556-07) and by
the Drive Tube Method (ASTM: D2937-04). The maximum density of the fill soils was
obtained by the laboratory standard (ASTM: D1557-07) and results are shown on Table I.
Tests were perFormed a minimum of every 500 cubic yards placed and every two feet in
depth of fill placed. A summary of the compaction tests are included with locations shown
on the accompanying plan.
