Dear Assembly Member Beall:
The City of Diamond Bar respectfully supports Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) and Assembly Bill
1 (AB 1), which represent a comprehensive transportation proposal with sensible
reforms and infrastructure investments.
As a municipal government, Diamond Bar is directly impacted by the investment
made in the state highway and local street and road systems. Within our own
jurisdiction, the State Route -57 and State Route -60 freeways coincide for a two-mile
long stretch, creating congestion, pollution and frequent traffic collisions. This freeway
segment has been ranked as the 6th worst freight bottleneck in the Nation by the
American Transportation Research Institute, this further recognizes an issue that has

national and regional implications. The Cities of Diamond Bar and Industry have
Mayor
worked diligently to secure funding for the SR-57/SR-60 Confluence Project, although
there is a need to secure additional funding in order to advance the construction of
Ruth M. Low
the remaining mainline improvements.

AB 1 will provide comprehensive transportation reform and funding that will provide
agencies, such as the City of Diamond Bar, with the necessary means to invest in

transportation infrastructure and local road systems.

For these reasons, the City of Diamond Bar supports SB 1 and AB 1.
