COMMENTS:
C/Tyn reported on the Diamond Bar Community Foundation Gala held on
Sunday, January 4and congratulated Jody Roberto and her team for their
outstanding contribution to the success of the event, He again
congratulated the Diamond Ranch High School Football team on their
accomplishments. Mmcongratulated the Diamond Bar Long Hom Dance
Team for finishing in 5° Place a, the National Spirit and Dance
Championship. He stated that the Hula Studio in D.B. donated space for
the Pop Warner Team topractice and folks mD.e.including the Diamond
Bar Community Foundation gave money toward their expenses to gm
them mFlorida for the competition. C/Tvaasked that tonight's meeting bo
adjourned in memory nfElsie Fullerton. Her husband, Suvrgc punouon,
works at Diamond Ranch High 8ohno| and has served in the Pomona
Unified sc»no| District for more than oo years. c/Tyc further asked that
everyone remember oovmo in their Vmugmx and prayers as he
recuperates; and always, always remember tokiss someone you love.

z000. He stated that there had been e reception and appreciation dinner
honoring the City's Volunteers on Patm|, many of whom donated in

the City. He believed that during the economic downturn D.B. would have
some challenges with a possible drop in sales and property taxes. He
axxou staff to look for other income sources and continue to carefully
budget bycutting expenses wherever possible. Hefurther asked that staff
bring forward the information tothe Council during afuture study session.

the Diamond Ranch H|o6 School football team, Hoattended the dinner
meeting for California Contract Cities Association at Hurst Ranch; the
appreciation dinner hosted by the Diamond Bar cmneen Association,
Evergreen Senior Gmvp, The Country Estates and Crystal Ridge
Homeowners Association inappreciation for the volunteerism ofthe City's
public safety nffionm. Firefighters and Sheriff's. He thanked the
Volunteers nnPatrol for the many hours ofvolunteer service. He attended
the Senior Citizen's New Year's Ewa celebration at Heritage Park; the
Diamond Bar Community Foundation Gala.
MPT/Herrera stated that recently many individuals had been asking her
about the financial condition of the City; and that they had expressed
concerns that o.a. m|om be mthe same situation on some neighboring
cities with millions of dollars in deficit. MPT/Herrera stated she annunau
concerned individuals that D.B. has been planning for a number ofyears
to have n,semoo and that the City is very oonnomauvo and has
comfortable reserves. D.B. is prepared in oeac the State decides to
balance their budget deficit uyencroaching onsome o/the monies the
cities are supposed m receive. D.B. ioprepared with contingency plans.
Residents were happy to hear the positive report and munkou the City
Council for their leadership and staff in promoting a oonnenmhva agenda.

results. Residents told him they appreciated the more reader -friendly City
