2.Which City Commission are you interested in serving?

3.Why are you interested in being a Commissioner for the City of Diamond Bar?
As a longtime resident of Diamond Bar for 36 years, I want to give back to the community that has shaped me into the person I am

Job Specific Supplemental Questions
1.City Commission meetings are typically in the evenings on Tuesday or Thursday at 6:30pm, one to two times per month.
Are there any evenings during the week that you are unavailable? If so, which days?
None. I am available every evening during the week.
2.Which City Commission are you interested in serving?
All of the above
3.Why are you interested in being a Commissioner for the City of Diamond Bar?
Being a member of our wonderful Diamond Bar community, I care about it dearly. I believe that this is my chance to give back to our
community and show my appreciation by serving in one of the City Commissions. Given the opportunity to serve, I can make a
difference in the Diamond Bar community by helping shape policies and ensuring that the City of Diamond Bar is meeting the needs
of its residents. I can help resolve disputes, address concerns, and find different ways to improve our city’s infrastructure. My ability
as a problem solver and technical expert will help develop solutions to help the Diamond Bar City Council make informed
judgements.
4.What makes you uniquely qualified to serve on a City Commission?
On a day-to-day basis as a technical expert, I review engineering plans to ensure compliance with local city codes and regulations,
environmental and safety standards. In addition to my technical skills, I am also a military veteran who is accustomed to making
critical decisions in high-pressure situations. I understand the rigors of tight schedules and limited resources while keeping in mind
the criticality and importance of staying with a task until it is done correctly. I believe that the City Council can benefit from my
unique technical and leadership expertise ensuring that developments can adhere to technical, environmental, and esthetic standards
while finding solutions to mitigate project impacts to the Diamond Bar community and the environment.
5.What additional information would you like to share with the City Council about your qualifications for the City
Commissioner position?
In addition, I am a license Professional Engineer in the State of California, Mechanical Engineer for City of Los Angeles Department of
Water and Power (LADWP), and a graduate alumnus of the USC’s Marshall School of Business, where I honed my business acumen
and leadership skills. At LADWP, I led the Safety Committee to ensure that the division is in compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations; I
volunteer for the Adopt-A-School Program where I help elementary school students improve their reading and other academic skills; I
also volunteer for the Veteran Affairs hospital where I participate in recreational programs, activities, escorting patients, handing out
food, and providing companionship to my fellow military veterans, as well as other non-profit organizations. I believe that my overall
background, technical, business, and volunteering experiences has prepared me for the City Commissioner position.
