Cameras are placed on street/signal light poles, approx. 15 feet above ground, hard-wired or solar-powered. Best practice is to place at ingress/egress locations. Cameras capture an image of the vehicle, plate, and can identify make, model, color, and features like stickers and roof racks. Location System Capabilities ALPR Data belongs to system owners searchable in the cloud and can be downloaded and stored locally stored on cloud- based servers leased by system provider ■Identify stolen vehicles that enter surveillance area. ■Supplement investigations where a witness or other evidence exists. Deployment will not eliminate property crime nor does it guarantee a decline..
