IMPORTANT NOTICE
Approval of Self-Haul/Third-Party Collection Exemption
Dear Diamond Bar Business Owner or Property Manager,
The City of Diamond Bar has reviewed and approved your request for an exemption from
receiving mandatory recycling and/or organic waste services through the City’s franchised
waste hauler, Waste Management.
Based on your application and verification process, your business is permitted to manage
waste through self-hauling or an approved third-party service provider in lieu of subscribing
to the City’s franchised collection services.
Please note the following conditions of this exemption:
• You must maintain an active self-haul or third-party collection permit.
• Documentation demonstrating proper recycling and organic waste management
(e.g., weight tickets, receipts, service agreements, or logs) must be provided to the
City upon request and at the required frequency.
• Materials must be transported to and properly managed at authorized and permitted
facilities.
• You are responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable State and
local waste management requirements.
• The City must be notified of any changes to your operations or service arrangements
that may affect your eligibility for this exemption.
This exemption will remain in effect as long as the above conditions are met. Failure to
maintain compliance, provide required documentation, or keep permits current may result
in revocation of this exemption and require enrollment in service with the City ’s franchised
hauler.
