PAWS, CARE AND CONVENIENCE …
Diamond Bar resident Christie smiles with her one-year-old Yorkie, Melo, outside
the Inland Valley Humane Society’s Good Mobile clinic at Pantera Park. They
were one of several owners and pets waiting in line for a scheduled spay or
neuter appointment. The Good Mobile is a fully equipped veterinary clinic
on wheels that provides spay and neuter services for cats and dogs under 60
pounds. Christie shared how appreciative she was of the affordability and the
convenience of being able to drop off Melo for his procedure. IVHS offers the
Good Mobile clinic in Diamond Bar every third Wednesday of the month at
Pantera Park, 738 Pantera Drive. To check available dates and schedule an

Diamond Bar Restaurant Week (DBRW), the
popular citywide dining promotion, is back for
the 10th year in a row!
During the promotion period that runs Monday,
Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 19, you can purchase any food
item from any Diamond Bar restaurant and get 20%
back in rewards when you use the Open Rewards:
Shop Local app. Additionally, everyone who takes part
in DBRW gets entered into a drawing at the end of
the promotion for a chance to win one of several gift
certificates to local businesses.
Launched in 2016, Diamond Bar Restaurant Week is
part of the City’s Keep it Local campaign, and aims
to showcase the range of quality and variety of dining
options in town.

The fourth and final opportunity to attend the City’s Meet Your Public Safety Service Providers will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Diamond Bar Center, 1600 Grand Avenue.
Offered as part of the City’s Let’s Talk
Public Safety program, the event opens
with presentations by representatives
from the LA County fire and sheriff’s
departments, Inland Valley Humane
Society, and the City, and closes with
information tables where attendees can
engage one-on-one with presenters.
Among the topics that will be covered
by presenters are crime prevention,
emergency preparedness, and wildfire
readiness. Free snacks, refreshments and
giveaways will be available, and every
attendee 13 and older will receive a raffle
ticket for a chance to win one of several
door prizes.

Diamond Bar TV Available for Streaming
You can now watch the City’s government
access channel, Diamond Bar TV (DBTV), on
your Roku device or on your phone or tablet
with the free Cablecast app.
Previously only available on Spectrum Cable
Channel 3 or Frontier FiOS television Channel 47,
DBTV is one of the many ways the City shares information about
City programs, projects and services with the community.
Programming on DBTV include city council meeting replays, local
business spotlights, public safety videos, and the DB Minute video
shorts series that covers various City services.
To add the City channel to your Roku device, simply enter
“Diamond Bar TV” into the search box on the Roku channel store
at https://channelstore.roku.com. If you do not have a Roku
device, you can also find the City channel on the free Cablecast
app that you can download to your phone or tablet.

The Role of the City Council
Residents interested in learning
more about the City Council,
including its role and duties, the
law- and policy-making process,
and what is required to run for
local office, are encouraged to attend this month’s City
Government Explained presentation.
The presentation, City Governance and the Decision-Making
Process, takes place 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at City
Hall, 21810 Copley Drive. Participation is free and open to
residents age 13 and older. Free refreshments and snacks are
available, and three attendees will win a door prize.

Public comments on the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact
Report (SIR) for the proposed Diamond Bar Town Center Specific Plan
will be accepted until 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10.
After the public comment period closes, the City will prepare a final environmental
report that will include responses to comments received during the public review
period. The final report will be considered by the Planning Commission and the City
Council in making the decision on whether or not to approve the Specific Plan.
Identified as a key priority during the community visioning process for the Diamond
Bar General Plan Update, the Specific Plan envisions the phased development of a
town center along Diamond Bar Boulevard between the 60 Freeway on the north
and Lorbeer Middle School on the south. This future town center would feature a mix
of retail shops, restaurants and public gathering spaces along with residential uses.

Fundraising Opportunities at Winter Snow FestFundraising Opportunities at Winter Snow Fest
The City’s popular Winter Snow Fest event will
again provide Diamond Bar nonprofits a fun way
to raise awareness of, and cash for, their causes.
Nonprofits have until Friday, Oct. 31 to apply to work the event as a
food vendor, game booth operator or craft area monitor.
In exchange for their participation, nonprofits that staff the
entertainment areas receive a portion of proceeds from the
wristband and game/craft cards sales; craft fair vendors keep all
their profits.
Winter Snow Fest takes place 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at
Pantera Park, 738 Pantera Drive. For additional details and a copy of

Halloween Party at Pantera ParkHalloween Party at Pantera Park
No tricks or scares, just fall-themed fun will be the order of
the day at this year’s Halloween Party taking place
9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25 at Pantera Park.
Created with families with young children in mind, the event features
games, photo stations, costume contests for people and pet dogs, trick-
or-treating at pet-related vendor stations, and free goodie bags with
advance online registration before Oct. 17.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Adding to the event’s festivities will be awarding
of prizes to the winners of the City’s annual pumpkin
decorating contest. To participate in the contest,
download an entry form by visiting
www.diamondbarca.gov/specialevents and take the completed form
and your already-carved or decorated pumpkin to the event between
8:30 and 9 a.m. so it can be included in the judging.

Calling Diamond Bar Veterans If you, or someone you know, live in Diamond
Bar, have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and
have not been officially recognized by the City
Council, the City wants to hear from you.
Every year in November, the City Council pays tribute
to the community’s military service members for their
selfless contributions and sacrifices during a special
celebration. The event, which this year take place
Thursday, Nov. 6, features patriotic musical performances,
an awards ceremony to recognize new veterans, and the
presentation of commemorative street pole banners to
those who are no longer on active duty.
The deadline to request recognition during this year’s
event is Friday, Oct. 17. For more information, visit

KIDS NIGHT OUT!
Halloween will come early for children taking part in the City’s
next Kids Night Out event!
Set to take place 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, the supervised
evening will feature kid-friendly Halloween-themed activities,
games, crafts and a pizza dinner. The cost to participate is $30
per child ($35 for non-residents), and registration closes Tuesday,
Oct. 14. Early registration is encouraged as spaces are limited
and fill up quickly.

THANKSGIVING MINI CAMP
Parents, looking to keep your kids, aged 6-12, engaged
during school break? Sign them up to participate in the City’s
Thanksgiving Mini Camp taking place 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 24-26
at Heritage Park.
The popular three-day camp is jam-packed with fun activities
that include arts and crafts, STEM projects, games and
sports. The cost is $205 per child. Spots are limited, and early
registration is encouraged.

YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
This eight-week program is designed to
teach the skills and fundamentals of
basketball to children aged 4-13 in a
