The phased demolition and replacement of the Grand Avenue bridge as part of the SR 57/60 Confluence Chokepoint Relief Project is now underway. Construction began in late September and will take approximately two years to complete.
Work on the bridge replacement is being done in two stages, starting
with the northbound direction before shifting to the southbound side.
Throughout construction, two traffic lanes in each direction will remain
open across the bridge.
Other work taking place as part of the SR 57/60 Confluence project
is the deck construction for the new eastbound SR-60 bypass bridge,
and utility relocation and roadway improvements on Golden Springs
Drive and Diamond Bar Boulevard.
The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) serves as
contractor and project manager for the SR57/60 Confluence project.

Presentation to Cover Building, Planning and Development
How does development work in the city, and who or what decides
what gets built where? What are some of the most common property
maintenance code violations, and how are they resolved? Which
projects require a City permit, and what are the steps to obtain one?
Answers to these questions and other topics related to building,
planning and development will be covered at the next City
Government Explained presentation taking place
6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at City Hall, 21810 Copley Drive.
Launched in 2022, City Government Explained is a series of monthly
presentations aimed at sharing information with the community
about the role and workings of local government. Participation is free
and open to residents aged 13 and older. Refreshments, snacks, and
door prizes are provided.
Space is limited and advance registration is required by calling or
texting 909-839-7056 or emailing publicinfo@diamondbarca.gov. For

Free sand and sandbags are again available at most LA County fire stations for the duration of the upcoming rainy weather season.
In Diamond Bar, Fire Station
#120 (1051 S. Grand Ave., 909-861-5995) only carries
empty sandbags while Fire Station
#121(346 Armitos Place, 909-396-0164) stocks both
sand and sandbags.
This is a self-serve service so individuals should bring
a shovel and be prepared to fill their own bags. A
maximum of 25 sandbags are allowed per household.
Calling the fire station before going to confirm
sandbag availability is strongly encouraged.
For a complete list and map of all the L.A. County fire

Pick Up After Your Pet
Having dogs as pets
comes with equal parts
perks and responsibilities.
One of these
responsibilities is picking
up after them when
going for walks.
In addition to being unsightly, pet
waste is a health and environmental
hazard. Contrary to what some people may think, pet waste
does not just decompose – it releases harmful parasites,
bacteria, and diseases into the environment, and can be
transmitted to humans and other pets.
By cleaning up after your dog(s), you help keep Diamond Bar’s
parks, trails and sidewalks clean and welcoming for everyone. If
you tend to forget bags, consider purchasing a dog waste bag
dispenser that attaches to your pet’s leash.
If someone in your neighborhood repeatedly fails to pick up
after their pet, call IVHS at 909-623-9777 between 8:30 a.m. and
5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. You will need to provide
your contact information, the offender’s address, a description
of the dog, and the specific dates, times, and locations when
the offenses occurred.
Spaces are limited!
Reserve your
space today.
