Street Name Sign Giveaway
Residents and business owners
interested in owning a retired
Diamond Bar street sign have until
the end of Wednesday, Jan. 15 to
complete an online interest form.
The signs – more than 1,300 of them – are available following
the recent citywide swap out of all signs for new ones that meet the latest federal
standards for visibility and reflectivity.
This giveaway is open only to Diamond Bar residents and business owners; only one
interest form for one sign per address is allowed. If multiple submittals are received
from the same household, only the first will be considered. A random drawing will be
held for signs where demand exceeds availability.
To see a list of available signs and complete the sign interest form, visit
www.diamondbarca.gov/streetsigns. For more information, contact the Public Works
Department at publicworks@diamondbarca.gov or 909-839-7040.

the City Council in February, and commissioners will
begin their two-year terms in March.
The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 31. For more

Assessor Offers Free Property Recording Notification System
The Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office offers a free,
easy and convenient way for homeowners to keep track
of any recorded activities on their property(ies).
Homeowner Alert Service, also known as e-notification, aims to
protect homeowners from potential real estate fraud by notifying
them by email any time an official document such as a foreclosure,
title transfer, or lien affecting their property is recorded with the
Assessor’s office.
The notification happens within 48 hours, giving the homeowner
time to identify, and take immediate action of, forged or fraudulent
filings they did not initiate.
There is no limit on the number of properties homeowners can enroll
for this service, and properties can include those of an elderly parent
or dependent adult who require looking after.
If a property owner suspects erroneous or fraudulent activity, they
can report it to the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs
online at dcba.lacounty.gov, by phone at 800-593-8222, or by email
at homehelp@dcba.lacounty.gov.
To learn more and sign up for this free service, visit

Holiday Light Removal Reminder
With the holidays behind us, residents
are reminded that exterior holiday lights
must be taken down within 30 days
of installation but no later than mid-
January in keeping with the Diamond Bar
Municipal Code.
Having holiday decorations on display for an
extended period of time can pose a fire hazard
because of their temporary use nature, and
create a visual blight which detracts from the
appearance of the neighborhood.
Starting mid-January, the City’s neighborhood
improvement officers will be checking for
holiday light violations during their routine field
inspections, and issuing courtesy notices to
residents not in compliance.
Questions about the Diamond Bar Municipal
Code can be directed to the City’s
Neighborhood Improvement Division by
calling 909-839-7030 or emailing
neighborhoodimp@diamondbarca.gov.

BINGO BRINGS SMILES …
Daisy Huang, a
24-year Diamond Bar
resident, couldn’t hide her
excitement after scoring a
$100 prize during the weekly
bingo program hosted by the
Diamond Bar Senior Citizens Club.
In this round, players had to complete
a square pattern on their bingo card.
Despite her petite size, Huang’s voice rang out with a triumphant “BINGO”
from across the room as soon as the final number was called. The weekly
program is offered every Monday and Friday at the Diamond Bar Center
and is open to adults 18 and older. With 10 rounds each session, there are
plenty of chances to win, make new connections, and experience the thrill
of shouting “BINGO!” For more information call 909-839-7068.
