new waste

For the past 25 years, Valley Vista Services (VVS) and Waste Management (WM) have been
Diamond Bar's exclusive commercial and residential solid waste haulers under three
separately negotiated franchise agreements. In April 2022, Diamond Bar City Council directed
staff to start a new proposal process with both VVS and WM. At the end of the process, Council
voted to select VVS's proposal for residential service, and WM's proposal for commercial
service because it maintained the same level of service while providing the best rates.

No, your new hauler will automatically receive your
account information from your current hauler, so there is
no action required on your part. However, you will need
to set up your preferred payment method once the
transition begins in September.
When will servic.0 with the new
waste haulers start?
Service with your new hauler begins Sept. 1, 2025.
However, since Sept. 1 is a holiday (Labor Day), your
service day this first week will be delayed by one day

You can make changes to your account by contacting
your new waste hauler - VVS at 800-442-6454 or
dbresidential@myvvs.com if you are currently a WM
customer, or Waste Management at 800-266-7551 if you
now have a VVS account.
Will i get new carts?
To ensure a smooth cart transition, continue placing your
current hauler's carts (full or empty) at the curb on your
scheduled collection day until they are exchanged. Your
current hauler will continue servicing your account
through the end of August 2025.
The new carts will match the sizes and quantities listed
on your current customer account, and will have a notice
attached to them with information on how to request
additional or different size carts.
Vvnen will I receive my first invoice
from the new hauler?
Both haulers operate on a quarterly billing cycle. During
the transition, your current hauler will issue its final bill
for August. Your new hauler will bill for September and
October. Regular quarterly billing will resume in
November. You will need to contact your new waste
hauler to set up automatic payments.
