Subject: NOTICE REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ORGANIC WASTE IN PLASTIC BAGS
This notice serves to confirm that Grand Central Recycling & Transfer Station receives organic waste
collected by Valley Vista Services, Inc. for the City of Diamond Bar and accepts source -separated
organic waste contained in plastic bags.
The facility is equipped with mechanical and manual processing systems capable of identifying,
separating, and removing plastic bags and other incidental plastic contamination from source -
separated organic waste streams. Plastic bags are removed during processing prior to the organic
material being transferred for composting or other approved organic recovery methods.
Accordingly, the acceptance of source -separated organic waste delivered in plastic bags does not
inhibit the facility's ability to properly recover organic materials in compliance with the requirements
of SB 1383 and all applicable state and local regulations.
