Page 3 of 4 Outreach Activities: In May of 2024, Abound Food Care focused our efforts on coordinating outreach to the identified non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. This included virtual touchpoints including email, and phone calls that included information on how to begin their food donation efforts. These touchpoints were as follows: 1. We received an email from the corporate office of Chilis. They let us know that Brinker has formed a cross functional team and are speaking with third party agencies to ensure compliance. They said they will be reaching out with any additional updates. We will follow up next month if we don’t receive any further updates before then. 2. After speaking with Fara at Blue Sky Café, she let us know they are not donating at this time. She was not familiar with SB1383, so we went over the donation requirements of a restaurant. She gave us her email and asked that we send additional information regarding this for her to review with her boss. We will follow up with Fara in the coming weeks if we don’t hear back from her before then. 3. We spoke with Robyn at the Diamond Bar Center. She let us know they do not have a donation program in place to donate their excess edible food. She asked that we reach out to Ryan Wright regarding this as he might know more about this. We will be reaching out to Ryan to go over the edible food donation requirements further and offer our assistance. We were able to get the tracking sheet for the edible food generators updated and sent back to the City so they could review the information. We also provided any educational information that we have provided to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators regarding the edible food donation requirements. We are in the process of revising the structure of our monthly Outreach Reports. The updated version will include more detailed information on the impact of edible food donations in the community. Additionally, the report will continue to highlight significant touchpoints for the month. You can expect to receive the updated report next month. We will continue our outreach to the non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators and continue to offer our support in getting them in compliance with the requirements of SB1383.
