Page 3 of 4 Outreach Activities: In April of 2024, Abound Food Care focused our efforts on coordinating outreach to the identified non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. This included virtual touchpoints including email, and phone calls that included information on how to begin their food donation efforts. These touchpoints were as follows: 1. We were able to get in contact with the general manager Mark at the Diamond Bar Golf Course. He was not familiar with the state mandate as they just reopened after being closed for over a year. We went over SB1383 and the edible food donation requirements. We explained that there is not a required amount that needs to be donated each month but that generators are required to be in a program so when they do have excess, they are able to donate it rather than throwing it out. He gave us his email and asked that we send additional information regarding this so he can look it over with his chef. We will follow up with Mark in the coming weeks if we don’t hear from him before then. 2. We reached out to Betsy from the Chili’s corporate office, to see if she had any updates regarding their donation program. She has not yet responded with any updates so we will continue to reach out to check the progress on their program. 3. We looked into the Diamond Bar Center, and they may qualify as a large venue. We spoke with Robyn, and she was a bit confused when I mentioned that we were working with the City as they are a City building. She asked that we reach out to Ryan Wright regarding this. We will try contacting Ryan to get some more details regarding this location. A large venue is a facility that annually seats or serves an average of more than 2,000 individuals within the grounds of the facility per day of operation. If we find out this is not the case at this facility after contacting Ryan then they would not qualify to have to participate. We will continue our outreach to the non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators and continue to offer our support in getting them in compliance with the requirements of SB1383.
