I reached out to Blue Sky Cafe and spoke with Fara, she gave me her email address so I could send her additional information regarding this because she was not sure if they would meet the requirements. I will have to follow up with her as I have not heard back from her after sending the information. I also reached out to the Diamond Bar Center and spoke with Robyn but she was not sure they would meet the requirements of a larger venue as they do not seat or serve 2,000 individuals within the grounds of the facility per day of operation. She was a little confused that I was reaching out since they are a City building and felt we would have already known this information. After going over the donation requirements of the mandate she asked that I reach out to Ryan Wright to discuss this with him as he would be able to help me more with this so I will need to follow up with him. I will work on updating the tracker for you as well as sending you over any educational material that has been provided to any of the EFG. This is a great tool for effective outreach. In addition to including a note about still having to participate in annual inspections, do you think a site manager, as well as a corporate representative, should acknowledge and sign the agreement? Do you think it would also be advantageous to encourage Tier 2 generators to have an agreement with a FRO/S, knowing it would be on an as-needed basis and nothing frequent or reoccurring at the time? This may be going against what CalRecycle has stated. But I wouldn't want an organization to miss an opportunity just because they don’t have a proper process in place. I hope this makes sense. Hello Anthony, According to the latest CalRecycle guidance, if a commercial edible food generator does not generate any excess edible food, CalRecycle would not require jurisdictions to enforce the requirement to have a contract or written agreement. We will continue to do our best at getting them into a compliant program. However, if generators insist that they do not have excess to donate, we have developed the attached acknowledgment notice they would need to sign and keep on site for annual inspection purposes.
