Outreach Activities:
In July of 2023, Abound Food Care focused our efforts on coordinating outreach to the
identified non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. This included virtual touchpoints
including email and phone calls that included information on how to begin their food donation
efforts. These touchpoints were as follows:
1. We spoke with Mr. Yun at Super H Mart regarding the information we sent over
regarding SB 1383. He let us know that he forwarded the information to his
headquarters, and he is waiting to hear back from them on how to move forward
regarding this. He said he is going to reach out to us after he hears from them to know
how they plan to move forward. We will continue to reach out for updates if we do not
hear back from him.
2. We tried to get in contact with Riyad who is the owner at Diamond Fresh but he was still
on vacation. We were able to speak with Temo who is his cousin and let him know
about SB 1383 and its requirements. We spoke about what we had discussed with
Norma when she was there and that they do donate but there is no agreement in place.
He asked if I could send over information to him regarding SB 1383 as well as a template
agreement so they could see what it consists of, and he is going to go over it with Riyad
when he gets back. We will follow up in a few weeks to see if Riyad is back and if they
were able to look over the information.
3. Oak Tree Lanes Bowling is not currently donating at this time. We spoke with Erica, and
she gave us her email so we could send additional information regarding this for them
to look over. We will reach back out in a couple of weeks to see if they were able to go
over the information we sent and what the next steps are going to be.
4. For Golden Dynasty LLC we have been unable to find a number for this location. We
have been doing some research and it looks like this could be the corporate office and
not a restaurant. If we are not able to find a number we will go out to the location to
see if it is an actual restaurant.
We will continue our outreach to the non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators and
continue to offer our support in getting them in compliance with the requirements of SB1383.
We await feedback as well as any edits from the city before we can start distribution of the
trifold and letter to all Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. The trifold contains additional information
on SB 1383 and its requirements as well as information that will help educate how each
generator is identified as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 generator.
