Outreach Activities:
In August of 2023, Abound Food Care focused our efforts on coordinating outreach to the
identified non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. This included virtual touchpoints
including email and phone calls that included information on how to begin their food donation
efforts. These touchpoints were as follows:
1. After speaking to Martin at Market World, he let us know that he had been having
trouble signing into his account to complete the signup process. We asked him if he
needed any assistance, but he said he was going to try again to get signed in and would
reach out if he was unable to do so. A couple days later Charlene reached out and let us
know that they completed the sign-up process. We have verified they completed signing
up and they are now in a program that is compliant.
2. We tried stopping by Target to speak with Emilee since we have not had any luck with
anyone answering when we call. We wanted to check in with her regarding the
agreement we received from corporate, but we were told she was in a meeting at the
time. They took our information and said they would let her know that we stopped by
and have her get in touch with us. We will continue to reach out to speak with Emilee to
verify the documents they need are onsite.
3. We have tried reaching out to Aida at Hope For Special Education but have not been
able to get in contact with her. We called and left her another voicemail and will
continue to reach out through email as well in hopes we will be able to connect.
We will continue our outreach to the non-participating Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators and
continue to offer our support in getting them in compliance with the requirements of SB1383.
We await feedback as well as any edits from the city before we start distribution of the trifold
and letter to all Tier 1 and Tier 2 generators. The trifold contains additional information on SB
1383 and its requirements as well as information that will help educate how each generator is
identified as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 generator.
