The ChowMatch app helps to to track food donation and transport using volunteer food runners, while ensuring the donated food goes to pantries truly in need. www.aboundfoodcare.org/chowmatch For the Donor: As a food donor, you will post a donation when you have excess edible food. Any excess food that is safe to consume, and has been handled in accordance to local food safety regulations can be donated. Becoming a Food Runner: In order for a volunteer to sign up as a food runner, they must read the FRESH Modules and take a food safety quiz (links found on the website during sign up). This gives each donor the confidence to post food donations knowing their food will be handled the same way as for profit-food. Time and temperature are taken at the pick-up point and drop-off point at the non-profit. How to Sign up on ChowMatch: On a desktop or browser, go to: www.aboundfood.org/chowmatch 1. your account with an email and password, then the email password. Create verify 2. From the ChowMatch homepage, next to your name is an arrow. Click on the arrow, then click on: [Donor Signup] 3. the two screens asking for basic information (address, business type, contact information). Fill out4. Hit and you have your donor profile. 5.submit completed How to post a Donation on ChowMatch:3 Simple Steps: From a desktop or browser, click on the arrow next to DONOR, then click on or from the mobile app, find [Schedule Food Run]. 1. [Schedule Food Run]. Fill in the (day, time, description), hit then on the next page. donation information continue confirm 2. For every donation, you will edit the [summary description of food] to include the items and quantity of the posted food donation. For recording donations, login to ChowMatch prior to pickup date to edit the donation quantity, category, and the summary description of food. 48 Hours Hit and your donation is posted!continue3. Safety & Assurance Ensures donated food will be handled safely and effectively, using the same guidelines as for-profit product. Reporting Capabilities Through this tech app you are able to pull your donation information for reporting and compliance purposes.
