PBLA prepare a survey for the workshop and an online web-based survey (Survey Monkey) to gather ideas of what the community desires at Heritage Park. PBLA conducted community presentations and attended Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council meetings to support the conceptual plans. PBLA also developed four options including Community Center improvements, ADA upgrades, a new restroom building, new play equipment, picnic tables under the mature trees and a large grass play area. Site furnishings will all be replaced to renovate the park and all park amenities will be accessible for all abilities. In summary, variations in the options include keeping or removing the existing ball field, adding a full-size lighted basketball court, adding lighted pickle ball courts, adding a splash pad, adding a meditation garden, adding two shuffleboard courts, adding a game table area, adding covered picnic shelters, and adding a par course exercise area. There is not sufficient space to include all of these amenities at Heritage Park, so the options provide different mixes of improvements for consideration. 17 RELATED PROJECT EXPERIENCE EISENHOWER PARK RENOVATION and SYNTHETIC TURF IMPROVEMENTS TO LITTLE LEAGUE FIELDS 2018 - 2019 CLIENT: CITY OF ARCADIA, CA Contact: Sara Somogyi, Director of Recreation and Community Services ssomogyi@arcadiaca.gov 626.574.5400 PBLA, formerly ICG, has conducted community outreach meetings that developed the program for the park renovation. PBLA also prepared a survey for the community workshop and an online web-based survey (Survey Monkey) to gather ideas of what the community desired at Eisenhower Park. PBLA also conducted Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council meetings to support the conceptual plans. At the end of the community input process, PBLA developed a Design Build Package that included ADA upgrades, a restroom building, a restroom and concession building, themed play equipment, picnic tables, basketball courts, par course, shade shelters, dog park renovation, a renovated parking lot, and a turf open space. Custom site furnishings will also be replaced to renovate the park, and all park amenities will be accessible for all abilities. ICG also produced an 8’ x 12’ banner identifying the park’s enhancements and updated periodically during the design process. ICG also prepared a survey for the workshop and an online web-based survey (Survey Monkey) to gather ideas of what the community desired at Newcastle Park. ICG also conducted Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council meetings to support the conceptual plans. At the end of the community input process, PBLA developed a Design Build Package that included ADA upgrades, a new restroom building, new play equipment, picnic tables, four (4) new pickleball courts, renovated handball courts, renovated tennis courts, renovated parking lot, and large grass play area. The renovation project will be completed in Phases 1 and 2, with Phase 3 (upgrading of ballfield) not being a part of this RFP. We understand that no public outreach is necessary for the project, and that the project has been determined to be exempt from CEQA requirements pursuant to Section 15201 (a) and (d) (Existing Facilities) Services requested for Phase 1 include renovating the park’s community center, restroom facility, and studying and improving ADA accessibility for all ages to all sections of the park and community center. Services requested for Phase 2 include updating the 5-12 years play equipment, the 2- 5 years tot lot play equipment, the picnic area, and the basketball court, while ensuring paths of travel meet ADA standards and all recreational equipment is accessible to those with disabilities.
