For example, if the City requires the rider to pay a mandatory $0.50 copay and the City subsidizes up to $20 per trip, the City will never be charged more than $20 per trip. Any costs beyond this amount will be the rider's responsibility. In cases where the total fare is less than $20.50, the City will only be billed for the portion of the fare that remains after the rider's $0.50 copay, meaning the City’s charge will be less than $20. E.3 Pay-per-performance model Uber’s pay-per-performance cost model includes variable fees you’re already familiar with, such as per minute and per mile. However, in order to deliver a great rider experience on the Uber platform, we offer incentives to drivers when demand spikes to ensure adequate coverage is available for riders.
