Save the Date: 2024 Earth Day Celebration
The City, in collaboration with Walnut Valley Water District, will be hosting the annual Earth Day Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the South Coast Air Quality
Management District parking lot, located at 21865 Copley Drive. There will be a variety of workshops, vendor booths, food trucks, activities for children, free paper shredding, and
a mulch giveaway.

LA County HHW/E-Waste Collection Event
A free drive-through Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste collection event is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 1300 block of Bridge Gate in Diamond Bar,
rain or shine.
To participate, pack your items in a box/disposable container and place them in your vehicle trunk or pickup bed. Once at the event, remain in your vehicle. LA County event staff will
remove the box(es) when it is your turn. Please limit waste to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.

Residential Waste Management HHW Services
Waste Management customers are eligible for "At Your Door,” a free year-round household hazardous waste pick-up service.

place items in the bag provided and outside your door for pick up scheduled every other Tuesday.
Items that are accepted for special collection include automotive products, paint products, garden and household cleaners, batteries, and light bulbs.

Household Goods Donation
Give your unwanted goods a new life by donating them to a local Goodwill. This helps reduce your waste and impact on the environment. Diamond Bar Goodwill is located at 21070 Golden

Arbor Day Poster Contest
Diamond Bar students are invited to showcase their creativity and celebrate the importance of trees by participating in the City’s 2024 Arbor Day Poster Contest.
Organized in observance of Arbor Day, the nation’s oldest environmental holiday, the contest aims to increase the community’s understanding and appreciation of trees and their environmental
benefits. The contest is open to Diamond Bar students in grades 4-7 in all public and nonpublic schools (private, charter, parochial, and home schools).
Contest artwork must be created by hand on standard 8 ½” x 11” paper and illustrate a message that communicates this year’s contest theme – “Nature’s Climate Champion.” Art can be in
color or black and white and created with crayon, colored pencil, marker, watercolor, or any other art medium. Glue, stickers, and glitter are not allowed.
Submissions are due no later than Friday, March 29, and may be dropped off at or mailed to Diamond Bar City Hall located at 21810 Copley Drive. Complete contest rules and the entry form

Food Waste Prevention

CRV Program Updates
Consumers pay a California Redemption Value (CRV) fee when they purchase beverages and receive CRV refunds when they redeem containers at a recycling center or retailer. CRV-eligible
beverages are packaged in aluminum, glass, plastic, and bi-metal. The CRV refunds are 5 cents for containers less than 24 ounces and 10 cents for containers 24 ounces or larger.
As of January 1, this includes beverage containers that are boxes, bladders or pouches containing wine, distilled spirits, wine coolers, or distilled spirit coolers. The redemption value
for these additions is 25 cents for boxes, bladders, or pouches containing wine, distilled spirits, wine coolers, or distilled spirit coolers.
