Contamination Monitoring Program 3rd Eye Every truck is equipped with VVS’ onboard computer system. There are numerous cameras throughout the truck. This system captures photos during service to further examine the contents and material within the container. Physical Tag A driver can place a physical tag on the container when it is unable to be serviced. This tag will be marked to indicate the exact issue as to why the container was not serviced. The customer is provided with options to ensure service is completed at the next available date. Tablet Service Note During service, the driver will properly mark the account on their tablet with the correct service note. If the container cannot be serviced, the driver will select the proper service note which will link to the customer’s account and the onboard computer system. The customer service department will then notify the customer via email why the container service was not completed. Visual Inspection The route driver can perform lid flip inspections. If improperly disposed material is detected, the driver will take a photo with their tablet. This photo will then be uploaded to the customer’s account for reference. Diversion Program Billing Inserts When billing is sent out, this provides the opportunity to notify residents of upcoming events and disseminate all relevant information on a quarterly basis. It will be an additional pamphlet included with the invoice for the quarter. Community Events Actively participate in local community events such as concerts in the parks, Earth Day, etc. to present recycling education information and bring awareness to residents. This provides residents with an opportunity to interact with VVS in an in-person environment. Emails As needed, emails can be sent out to reach residents to inform them of any changes, needs for correction, or providing information. Facility Tours With the expansion of Grand Central Recycling, this will provide residents with an opportunity to visually inspect where the material from the containers goes. Residents will be able to see the process in how the material is handled from an observation deck and receive additional information. Newsletters Quarterly residential newsletters are distributed to notify residents of all upcoming events and relevant information. Social Media VVS’ social media presence via platforms Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter provides information to all residents. Website This platform provides the opportunity to inform residents of any recycling information. Brochures, flyers, forms, links, and videos to CalRecycle and other resources are available to residents. Workshops Having workshops will provide the option for education through interactive presentations. This will allow new and relevant information to be shared with the State’s new requirements. Opportunities for questions will be provided. The workshops will ensure to discuss the regulatory requirements of all local program service changes.
