Waiver Request for Your Location Does Not Meet State Regulatory
Requirements - Automatic Roll-out of an
Organic Waste Recycling Program is Required for Your Location
Diamond Bar Business Owner or Property Manager:
We regret to inform you that your waiver application, exempting you from
mandatory organic waste recycling, cannot be approved. After reviewing your data
and completing our audit and/or site visit, we have determined that your location
does not fall within the waiver guidelines set forth in Public Resources Code (PRC)
18984.11. While cities are able to grant waivers, the State ultimately needs to
determine if they are valid, and that is why the city must strictly follow these
guidelines when considering SB 1383 related waivers.
Your contracted hauler will be reaching out to you in the coming months to set up
your State-mandated organic waste recycling program. Since your location is not
eligible for a waiver under State guidelines, it is a legal requirement that you
participate in this program. If you would like any technical assistance in establishing
your program, beyond what the hauler will provide, please reach out to the City’s
contracted consultant, at the following email address mballiet61@gmail.com.
