The unacceptable materials are visible in the image below.  Organics Recycling California’s SB 1383 requires you to separate food, yard waste and food-soiled paper from your trash and recycling into your organics container. Do not place these items in your trash container: No food scraps, yard waste and other organic material No recyclables No household hazardous waste (Batteries, lightbulbs, pool & yard chemicals, paints, propane tanks, used oil) No electronics Household hazardous waste or electronics in your trash or recycling is unlawful and dangerous. Hazardous waste could spark a fire in your container, a collection truck or a processing facility. Proper disposal of these items is critical to keeping the environment and everyone safe. Bring these items to community drop-off events or search for locally for hazardous waste/e-waste solutions. Need an organics container or need to right-size your containers?
