All,
As you are aware, we are anticipating another ring of rain storms beginning today into next week. This storm that we are expecting later this evening is bringing more rain than last
week, along with winds.
We have been in communication with our foothills cities that were impacted by previous fires. However, this does not exclude other cities from experiencing damages related to the rain
and expected winds.
As always, the County Office of Emergency Management has opened and OARRS “January Storm Event”. We encourage you to use this tool for status updates. Should you feel the need to enter
them. You can always email me any critical updates, where resources may be of need. For cities that are anticipating debris and mudflow, if you are going to activate your EOC, please
be sure of letting me know the start of your activation, level as well as your deactivation. If you’re going to be sending any mass notifications, please be sure lf letting me know.
If your city decides to issue any evacuation warnings/orders, let me know as well.
If your city experiences any critical damages, that may impact life safety, property, or the environment you should consider proclaiming a local emergency. Please note that in doing,
certain deadlines will need to be adhered to ensuring that your proclamation makes it to the Cal OES team. Although the state has issued a state of emergency, local government should
still locally proclaim if needed. Each storm event that we are expecting will be considered its own incident so please be sure to track accordingly.
I encourage you all to document any activities associated with response to the rain storms. Document any overtime, resources acquired, and or requested, and if you’re able to document
via pictures of any local government properties, such as city owned parks and buildings that could potentially be impacted by the storm.
I am available to you all via email, text and phone calls at 627-201-0919. Please do not hesitate in contacting me should any concerns or questions arise.
Everyone, stay safe.
