…ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR MOST AREAS AWAY FROM THE COAST THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY DUE TO PERSISTENT VERY LOW HUMIDITIES AND PERIODS OF BREEZY TO LOCALLY GUSTY OFFSHORE

...ELEVATED TO BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS PORTIONS OF LA/VENTURA COUNTIES WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...
REMAINDER OF TODAY
· Winds:
o LA/Ventura coasts/valleys: N-NE gusts 15-25 mph
§ Isolated gusts 30-35 mph for wind prone valleys and ridges
o LA County mountains: N-NE gusts 15-25 mph
§ Lingering gusts to 35 mph
o Interior SLO/SBA counties + Santa Lucia mountains/foothills: NE gusts 15-25 mph
o LAX-DAG gradient peaked at -5.2 mb this morning, forecasted to be -2 mb by late this afternoon.
· Humidity:
o 6-16%
· Temperatures: Highs 65-76.
· Assessment:
o Local Red Flag weather conditions over western Los Angeles and southeastern Ventura County through mid afternoon
§ If fire ignition occurs, there will be an increased risk for rapid wildfire spread
OUTLOOK (TONIGHT-FRIDAY):
· Breezy to locally gusty offshore winds at times and very dry tonight through Wednesday
o Wind gusts 15-30 mph LA/Ventura county mountains/valleys
o Minimum humidities 7-15%
o Elevated Fire Weather conditions through the period
· Potential for weak-moderate Santa Ana winds Wednesday night into Friday
o Potential for wind gusts 25-40 mph across wind prone LA/Ventura counties
o Warmer event with highs 75-85
o Minimum humidities 7-15%
o Projected LAX-DAG gradient peaking around -3 to -5 mb
· Assessment:
o High confidence in warmer temperatures
o Some uncertainty in strength of offshore winds, continued spread in model solutions
o Elevated to brief critical fire weather conditions likely
§ 20% chance of Red Flag conditions across mountains/ valleys of LA/Ventura counties
