HomeMy WebLinkAboutDiamond Bar Homeless Encampment Status Update.msgAll- Based on previous reports, I visited the following locations to have a baseline moving forward for the rest of the year. I am providing an update for your background in case you receive subsequent calls or complaints. * Sunset Crossing Park – There does not appear to be an encampment or activity on City property. I confirmed with YMCA Learning Center they have occasionally seen transients, but activity is significantly less now that encampment is clear and activity is limited to people coming/going through our property across the railroad tracks. YMCA has appreciated Sheriff efforts in the area, so sharing for your reference. * Diamond Bar Blvd /SR-60 Park and Ride Lots – There appear to be vehicles that may be used for temporary shelter. However, they were not occupied at the time of visit. Will follow up later to see what can be confirmed. * Diamond Bar Blvd / SR-60 Off Ramp – There was no activity today. However, there was a flower vendor present on Valentine’s Day. Will continue to monitor. * Diamond Bar Blvd / Del Taco – There were the regulars hanging out by Del Taco and 7-11. They frequent that location. I will ask CADA to reach out next visit. * Diamond Bar Blvd / Brea Canyon Cutoff – A person was witnessed under the overpass. Staff previously reported to LAHSA LA HOP, but the team was unsuccessful in making contact with the person after two visits. Will monitor and resubmit to LA HOP and CADA. * Peterson Park – No activity witnessed in area. * Pantera Park – No activity witnessed in area. * City Hall Hillside – Please refer to sperate email for update. No trespassing signs have been posted behind City Hall. Gateway will work on their own notice. Letter of Agency has been submitted. If you receive any calls or concerns please let me know.
