Greetings, Here are updated notes on expected fire weather conditions and the outlook into the weekend: TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY * Winds: * Afternoon and early evening southwest to west gusts of 25-35 mph mountains and interior with isolated gusts to 40 mph around Lake Palmdale * North-northwest gusts 30-40 mph southwestern SBA Co coast tonight * Humidity: * Min humidities today 4-18 percent SBA, VTU, and LA Co mountains and Antelope Valley; slight increase in min humidities on Thursday with lowest humidities in the teens * Poor overnight recoveries tonight (Max RH 20-30% mountains and interior) * Temperatures: * Hot temperatures in 90s to 104 valleys and interior * Lows 70s foothills and Antelope Valley * Monsoon Moisture: * Arrives on Thursday. Bulk of the moisture east of the district. * Afternoon cumulus buildup LA County mountains, possibly into Ventura Co mountains * Assessment: * Elevated to brief critical fire weather conditions today through this evening LA County mountains and Antelope Valley * Locally elevated fire weather conditions Thursday * Active wildfires and grass fires possible across interior, especially today * Potential for plume driven fire growth in any new fire starts with mixing heights 10-13 kft mountains and Antelope Valley OUTLOOK FOR FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND * Continued dry conditions across the interior each day with minimum humidities 15-25% mountains and interior * Hot temperatures valleys and interior; Highs 101-106 Santa Clarita/San Fernando Valleys and interior * Afternoon mountain cumulus buildups with a slight chance of thunderstorms eastern San Gabriels and nearby Antelope Valley areas each afternoon.
