Hello all,
The following information is being shared for situational awareness:
The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended the previously issued Excessive Heat Warning for the following areas:
* Downtown LA/LA Basin: now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* Los Angeles County Mountains (includes Acton): now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* Santa Clarita Valley: now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* San Fernando Valley: now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* San Gabriel Valley: now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* Santa Monica Mountains: now in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
* Antelope Valley: remains in effect through Wednesday, September 7, 2022
The following Heat Advisories previously issued by the National Weather Service remain in effect for the following areas:
* Los Angeles County Beaches: remains in effect through Monday, September 5, 2022
* Malibu Coast: remains in effect through Monday, September 5, 2022
Cooling Center note: Some County operated Cooling Centers have augmented days/hours of operation beyond standard business hours to continue providing Cooling Center services through
the Labor Day Holiday. As always, cities maintain the authority and liberty to facilitate local heat response measures, including Cooling Center operations, based on local plans, procedures,
and thresholds.
