"Emergencies have always impacted diverse populations, yet the way the field of emergency management is built does not adequately incorporate the thoughts, lived experiences, feedback,
or staffing found in diverse populations. Similar to the fields of education and medicine, emergency management must enter its renaissance of philosophical growth, where the field affirms
that people of all backgrounds must be the center of the work and all experiences must be included. This session will share the direction the field and supporting technology must take
to ensure all persons are served equitably, promoting equal protection and services before, during, and after a disaster strikes”.
