The National Weather Service in Los Angeles / Oxnard will NOT be holding a fire weather conference call, but here is an update on some impactful weather coming up. TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY * Rain: Generally 0.25 inches or less * Locally around 0.50 inches San Lucia's, Ventura Mountains, San Gabriel Mountains * Some areas will not receive any measurable rain * Highest chances Tuesday Night * Snow: 1-3 inches * Snow level 7,000 feet Tuesday, lowering the 5,000 feet Wednesday * Wind: * SW Gusts 30-50 mph Tuesday, strongest mountains & interior valleys * Humidity: Above 40%, except 15-30% early mountains and deserts early Tue. * Temperature: Highs 60-70, except 45-55 mountains and interior valleys Wed. WEDNESDAY NIGHT - THURSDAY * Snow: 1-3 inches * Snow level 3,500-4,000 feet * 1-2 inches possible I-5 Tejon Pass * Wind: NW-N Gusts 30-50 mph * Strongest in the mountains. * Isolated gusts to 60 mph possible (Montecito Hills and I-5 Corridor). * Winds could impact coastal and valley areas as well. * Humidity: Mins 15-30%, except 30-50% Central Coast and north slopes. * Temperature: Highs 55-65, except 40-50 mountains OUTLOOK: * Thursday Night - Friday: N-NE Gusts 20-40 mph. Just a reminder that our monthly CWIRS test is this Thursday, February 9 at 10:00AM. If you are unable to participate, please send me an email. CWIRS Please note that this Thursday’s test will be conducted at 10:00am, and will not include a monitor period. We are going to conduct the test on the following system/channel: Portable CWIRS: Channel: Turn knob to channel 5- Display should read: Cities (first line) City D (the 2nd line of the display). If not, use up and down arrows until the display reads correctly. CWIRS Base Station: Channel/Zone 8- City D We also invite our partner agencies to participate in the radio check. PS. If you have accidentally “locked” the portable radio: Hold down on the “M” button and (almost simultaneously) press the top button on the left side (the one without the nub in the center)… it may be necessary to press it twice… it should nor read unlocked.
