The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard will NOT be holding a conference call today, but there are some items to raise to your awareness. THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT: * Winds: * NW-N Direction each afternoon and evening. N-NE direction each night and morning. * Through Saturday Morning. Gusts 30-45 mph. Isolated gusts 50-60 mph possible in the mountains including Montecito Hills, Santa Lucias, and Whitaker Peak. * 5-10 mph weaker than last night, but still impactful. * Strongest over southern Santa Barbara County (including Montecito), Central Coast, Most Mountains (including I-5 Corridor, Santa Lucias, Santa Monicas), Santa Clarita Valley * Breezy winds will also impact the San Fernando and Ventura Valleys and interior San Luis Obispo Valleys * Saturday Afternoon and Night: NW-NE Gusts 20-35 mph over SW Santa Barbara County, Santa Luicas, and Antelope Valley. * Much weaker and localized than today/tonight. * Humidity: Mins 8-15% common valleys and mountains, 12-25% common coasts. * Poor overnight recoveries 15-30% in mountains and windier valleys. (Driest tonight) * Temperatures: Highs 88-98 common, warmest Saturday (10-15 degrees above normal). * Very wam night in foothills and windier valleys (lows 65-75) * Assessment: * Elevated to Brief Critical Fire Weather Conditions. * Localized 2-5 hours of critical conditions in windiest / driest areas * Red Flag warnings for most extreme conditions NOT expected. * Active wildfires with strong initial response likely if ignition occurs * Power outages are possible. OUTLOOK: * Sunday, cooler but still 5-10 degrees above normal. Improved RH, except 8-15% over San Gabriels & Antelope Valley. Return of typically gusty SW-NW winds. * Monday through Wednesday, Near normal temperatures. Typically gusty SW-NW winds.
