Greetings.
Here are updated notes on expected fire weather conditions through the middle of this week.
***ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONDITIONS THROUGH THIS EVENING OVER MOUNTAINS, DESERTS, AND INTERIOR VALLEYS DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS, VERY WARM TEMPERATURES, AND LOW HUMIDITIES***
***SLIGHT CHANCE OF MONSOONAL THUNDERSTORMS AFTERNOON HOURS ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY FOR THE EASTERN SAN GABRIELS AND EASTERN ANTELOPE VALLEY***
TODAY :
* Winds: Southwest to West Gusts 25-35 mph across interior.
* Winds strongest over Antelope Valley and adjacent foothills
* Humidity: Minimums 8-20% mountains, deserts, and interior valleys.
* Temperatures: Highs 90-103 most interior valleys, lower mountains, and deserts
* Overnight lows: 60-70 common, except 70-75 common foothills and deserts.
* High mixing heights 10,000-15,000 feet mountains & interior valleys.
* Coastal sections: Highs 70-80. Persistent marine layer influence
* Fuels:
* Live fuels are at or near critical, generally 55-70%.
* 10hr dead fuels at critical, generally 3-7% with little change expected this week.
* Assessment:
* Elevated fire weather conditions through this evening across mountains, deserts, and interior valleys
* Potential for active wildfires across interior
OUTLOOK (MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY):
* Slight improvement but still warm and dry over most mountains and interior valleys.
* Seasonal southwest to northwest onshore winds, less north winds and Sundowners.
* Potential return of monsoon moisture to southern mountains/deserts by Monday/Tuesday - 20% chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms each day for eastern San Gabriels and eastern
