All,
Please take the time to read the following message regarding cooling centers, and complete the following survey. We briefly discussed this topic during our April Area D meeting, and
advised you then that more will be coming regarding this topic.
Just to recap briefly, the Department of Public Health will be in alignment with the National Weather Service and State Heat Index. This survey will help improve coordination and amplify
services offered throughout the Operational Area. Your input is crucial, and we ask that you complete this no later than by Friday, June 10, 2022. Survey accessed via link in next line.

Cooling Center Services Survey - City Facilities
This program provides, through your facility, a place where residents can go to get relief from extreme heat during the summer months when authorities determine a heat event poses a
risk to public health.
This survey is intended to improve coordination and amplify services offered throughout the Operational Area related to Cooling Centers. Sites submitted via this survey will be advertised
on the County’s Lacounty.gov/heat <https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http%3a%2f%2flacounty.gov%2fheat&c=E,1,EuhCPp0EMuXC0joOhWGc7_cEOyeXGqfG1vlsgmu2vgH9GbcFFAgZpkQb6WeBlb15ExcIe5WgpvRHdKYjIW2GK6
Xg_0seJHKzQiMM1MvMGQNJjpQMuUUf50lISQ,,&typo=1> webpage (unless indicated otherwise). Each entity retains the management and final operational decisions, including days/hours of operations,
criteria followed for offering cooling center services, specific services offered, and similar considerations, for their sites.
**It is recommended that facilities offering cooling center services be American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, have public access to restrooms, and have public access to water (water
fountains, bottled water, etc.).
**Please note if your site is not ADA compliant, does not provide access to public restrooms, and does not provide public access to water (water fountains, bottled water, etc.), it
will not be advertised on the Ready LA County webpage.
If your agency would like multiple facilities included on the Cooling Center map, please fill out a survey for each site. At the end of the survey, click on the “Submit Another Response”
link to complete a new survey.
