The following information is being shared for situational awareness:
The National Weather Service (NWS) has elevated the previously issued Heat Advisory to an Excessive Heat Warning for the following areas:
* Los Angeles County Beaches: Warning in effect through Monday, September 5, 2022
* Malibu Coast: Warning in effect through Monday, September 5, 2022
Cooling Center note: Some County operated Cooling Centers have augmented days/hours of operation beyond standard business hours to continue providing Cooling Center services through
the Labor Day Holiday. As always, cities maintain the authority and liberty to facilitate local heat response measures, including Cooling Center operations, based on local plans, procedures,
and thresholds.
