The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard will NOT be holding a conference call today, but there are some items to raise to your awareness.
*** Elevated Fire Weather Conditions across the Interior Today through Wednesday due to breezy, warm, and dry conditions ***
*** Elevated Fire Weather Conditions on Thursday across the LA County mountains and Antelope Valley due to increasing onshore winds with warm and dry conditions ***
TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY (Interior Valleys, Mountains, Antelope Valley):
* Winds:
* North to northeast wind gusts 25-35 mph across interior (strongest LA county mountains) morning-early afternoon, shifting to west-northwest late afternoon/evening
* Light northeast winds likely reaching Santa Clarita Valley Tuesday morning.
* Humidity: Min 8-20% (Driest across LA mountains/Antelope Valley)
* Temperatures: Highs 84-94 Today, 90-100 Tuesday
* Assessment:
* Elevated Fire Weather Conditions
* Brief Critical Fire Weather Conditions (2-3 hours) possible each day across LA county mountains
* Active wildfires possible across interior
WEDNESDAY (Interior Valleys, Mountains, Antelope Valley):
* Winds:
* Gusty south to west winds afternoon/evening hours across interior due to strengthening onshore flow.
* Gusts 25-35 mph (strongest across Hwy 14 corridor into Antelope Valley)
* Isolated Gusts 45 mph Antelope Valley foothills
