Below is an update of the fire weather conditions expected through the week. MODERATE TO STRONG NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS THROUGH MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND WARMING AND DRYING TREND WITH WEAKER WINDS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY TODAY THROUGH MEMORIAL DAY: * Winds: NW-N Gusts 30-55 mph * Strongest southern Santa Barbara County (including the eastern Santa Ynez Range around the Montecito Hills), I-5 corridor, and western Antelope Valley * Breezy winds also filtering through the Santa Clarita Valley and portions of the San Fernando Valley * Strongest and most widespread late this afternoon through early Monday morning * Peak Pressure Gradients: LAX-DAG +7 to +8; SBA-SMX -3.5 to -4.5; SBA-BFL -2.5 to -3.5 * Humidities: * Mins 12-25% across interior valleys and mountains (including eastern Santa Ynez Range) * Coasts/valleys: Mins 30-50% common. * Driest Monday with mins 8-15% possible for Antelope Valley * Temperatures: Highs 73-83 common away from the beaches. * Warmest Monday * Assessment: * Elevated to brief fire weather conditions possible over interior (especially Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and adjacent mountains) and eastern Santa Ynez Range * Localized wind damage and power outages possible across windiest areas TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY: * Winds: Seasonal onshore flow along coast, weak northerly offshore flow across interior and mountains * Breezy NW winds with gusts 15-25 mph Central Coast, western Santa Ynez Range, and I-5 corridor on Tuesday * Weak NE winds eastern Santa Ynez Range * Humidities: * Mins 10-25% away from the coast, 8-12% Antelope Valley * Moderate overnight recovery 30-50% mountains and interior valleys * Driest Wednesday * Temperatures: Highs 80-95 valleys, 70-80 coasts and mountains * Warmest Wednesday * Assessment: * Pockets of elevated fire weather conditions possible across interior OUTLOOK: THURSDAY THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND * Gradual cooling trend with high temperatures 75-85 by the weekend * Typical June Gloom pattern expected with onshore flow increasing and the marine layer returning to coasts and valleys * Thursday will be very dry away from the coast with minimum humidities 10-25%, but humidities will improve each day through the weekend Read the full fire weather planning forecast: https://go.usa.gov/xRFM3 Monitor the current conditions with the Fire Weather Snooper at: https://www.weather.gov/lox/fwmV3 Fire One Page is a one-stop-shop for fire weather links: https://www.weather.gov/lox/fire We continue to be open and staff 24/7 for any weather related needs.
