LA County has proclaimed a local emergency for the late February rain storms. Below you will see their request for initial damage estimates. Please see email below for explanation and
details.
For those jurisdictions that received damages from the rains this past week, know that you may submit them to included in the overall picture. However, I would advise that in doing so,
you also issue a local emergency proclamation. If you e done so this week at city council, please forward me that signed copy.
I will send two more separate emails.
1. Will be the coney local emergency proclamation, and
2. Will be an email from FEMA for Hazard Mitigation Grant Funding Notice.

Subject: Action Needed by 3/3/23 5PM: Late Feb Winter Storm - IDE - OA
Good evening all,
Please share the IDE form attached with your cities/agencies. Due to the County’s proclamation, the deadline to submit an IDE to OEM is Friday March 3rd, 2023 at 5PM. Please note the
figures in the IDE do not have to be exact; realistic estimates are acceptable.
Please ensure that the costs submitted in response to this email, only include costs incurred starting February 21st and not residual costs from the previous storms. We understand that
your agencies may be busy responding to the storms, however, the initial damage estimates need to be received on time due to timelines set by the State. Any costs not received by the
deadline may be left unaccounted. At this time, there is no guarantee of Federal/State funding/reimbursement, but we will be submitting the IDE’s to the State.
Please note: The IDE form was previously sent out so that agencies could become familiar with the updates. The workbook contains multiple tabs that need to be completed. One of the
changes made the IDE- Summary tab that auto populates. When the cities fill out the PA, FHWA, and IA&SBA tabs the information will appear in the IDE -Summary. Not all tabs will be applicable
to every agency.
