What healthcare providers should do: * If healthcare providers identify patients with a rash that looks like monkeypox, consider monkeypox, regardless of whether the patient has a travel history to central or west African countries. * Do not limit concerns to men who report having sex with other men. Those who have known close personal contact with people with monkeypox could potentially also be at risk for the disease. * Some patients have had genital lesions and the rash may be hard to distinguish from syphilis, herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, chancroid, varicella zoster, and other more common infections. * Isolate any patients suspected of having monkeypox in a negative pressure room, and ensure staff understand the importance of wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and that they wear it each time they are near suspected cases. * Standard cleaning/disinfectants may be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. * Report all suspected monkeypox cases to the LA County DPH immediately. * For healthcare professionals please refer to for consult and reporting: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/clinicians/report/ <https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2flnks.gd%2fl%2feyJhbG ciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDEsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMjA1MjAuNTgyNDk5OTEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwOi8vcHVibGljaGVhbHRoLmxhY291bnR5Lmdvdi9jbGluaWNpYW5zL3JlcG9ydC8_dXRt X2NvbnRlbnQ9JnV0bV9tZWRpdW09ZW1haWwmdXRtX25hbWU9JnV0bV9zb3VyY2U9Z292ZGVsaXZlcnkmdXRtX3Rlcm09In0.XzqT5A1TlIBc19CP_RLx80gT8ugO7ckEpkiouJ76nQQ%2fs%2f1157253094%2fbr%2f131682830700-l&c=E,1,W8bQc-aMb1aX7o yWdK6B6Z5rhDewAP0kdCvpxqKGMzTQ3siLO0X8LYEA93ysKnRv2suHBO803r-4rYyDdQa5PfIB_a1ALJ6j0It7Pd8lDw5aRHOY_ngyV7SOvg,,&typo=1> facebook <https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2flnks.gd%2fl%2feyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDIsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMjA1MjAuNTgyNDk5OTEiLC J1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy5mYWNlYm9vay5jb20vbGFwdWJsaWNoZWFsdGg_dXRtX2NvbnRlbnQ9JnV0bV9tZWRpdW09ZW1haWwmdXRtX25hbWU9JnV0bV9zb3VyY2U9Z292ZGVsaXZlcnkmdXRtX3Rlcm09In0.kePDW4-9MgU7O1UGO-gkwua6Be57tDWURLaGD f5BjYA%2fs%2f1157253094%2fbr%2f131682830700-l&c=E,1,R8yaf6sFdGiDyVPaXm0wvVjkUlL97EfQfE29_0usjW1CfmuVGjsKdB0SliEIwhPvBfYuWOXguchydRdyyCpYda0zDcDk59-qd4u7zAvjSGU,&typo=1> twitter <https://linkprotect.c udasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2flnks.gd%2fl%2feyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDMsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMjA1MjAuNTgyNDk5OTEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3R3aXR0ZXIuY 29tL2xhcHVibGljaGVhbHRoP3V0bV9jb250ZW50PSZ1dG1fbWVkaXVtPWVtYWlsJnV0bV9uYW1lPSZ1dG1fc291cmNlPWdvdmRlbGl2ZXJ5JnV0bV90ZXJtPSJ9.PcSD6YSEToZCcqrhydqAoDKkHtpdRPDzgolMtuurAAM%2fs%2f1157253094%2fbr%2f1316828 30700-l&c=E,1,BDP_uqHUXTbEoCne6zJTY0dL47omCphFQK9-v-F6Tgv3B8DzOH3ZBZw4SGddvIBcnyKBJ9UPXfitEmQzDDMYKOCzg1fJ_CrxzKNQnZWtSg,,&typo=1> instagram <https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2flnks. gd%2fl%2feyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDQsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMjA1MjAuNTgyNDk5OTEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy5pbnN0YWdyYW0uY29tL2xhcHVibGljaGVhbHRoLz91d G1fY29udGVudD0mdXRtX21lZGl1bT1lbWFpbCZ1dG1fbmFtZT0mdXRtX3NvdXJjZT1nb3ZkZWxpdmVyeSZ1dG1fdGVybT0ifQ.UEYjTnNb_HZtAAGybJeYkRHM1ytHeF6Btx-qx00p5Mg%2fs%2f1157253094%2fbr%2f131682830700-l&c=E,1,qJFIHPRFDKpR 2OW-NPOi99UDn8B35od8sWsdiPU9ixRsF2w-Zkq-VHzcPMDfhWnKjqr8Gv3J4jvvBy0PvazcuR3MyZuENAuFX-r93MGuLl7NrCt8FYlZoBvm5CWF&typo=1> youtube <https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2flnks.gd%2fl%2feyJ hbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDUsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMjA1MjAuNTgyNDk5OTEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbS91c2VyL2xhcHVibGljaGVhbHRoP3V0bV9jb250Z W50PSZ1dG1fbWVkaXVtPWVtYWlsJnV0bV9uYW1lPSZ1dG1fc291cmNlPWdvdmRlbGl2ZXJ5JnV0bV90ZXJtPSJ9.IRLea9h_xPLyLcSC3TqpBYyoNst5IvkbnF2D93C0v2s%2fs%2f1157253094%2fbr%2f131682830700-l&c=E,1,6vJfRNdJISsYQltVyJhsJa dQgBDoQ840p16N31bfZOalGbbE4CWupYEDdahEJcQPIjg4tdYSS8X_4Nao1-M01O5VFnyQHyDO6HXUP9_XUFnkg-kZbLRFodrOJA,,&typo=1> The Department of Public Health is committed to promoting health equity and ensuring optimal health and well -being for all 10 million residents of Los Angeles County.
