REYES, CAPTAIN WALNUT/DIAMOND BAR WALNUT/DIAMOND BAR STATION STATION SUBJECT: AFTER ACTION REPORT – DIAMOND BARBURGLARY SUPPRESSION On January 30, 2018, Walnut/Diamond Sheriff Station implemented burglary suppression overtime inthe city ofDiamond Bar in an effort to curb residential burglaries. The city ofDiamond Bar approved two hundred and sixty four hours of burglary suppression overtime which was divided into two single person patrol vehicles and one unmarked “Under-cover” vehicle, eight hours a day, three days a week. The primary objective of the unmarked UC vehicle was to identify suspicious persons or criminal activity and relay the information to the patrol/takedown vehicles, so that a coordinated and safe response could be made. Based on statistical information obtained regarding residential burglaries, itwas determined the burglary suppression would be worked on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday between the hours of1100-1900 hours. As of February 23, 2017, two hundred and sixty four hours of burglary suppression overtime had been completed. The following is a summary of the actions taken by deputy personnel. Traffic stops conducted – 52 Pedestrian stops conducted – 4 Field Interview Cards completed – 4 Citations issued – 7 Misdemeanor arrests – 7 Between January 1, 2018 and January 29, 2018, (24) residential burglaries occurred in the city of Diamond Bar. Since the implementation of burglary suppression overtime between the dates of January 30, 2018 and February 23, 2018, three residential burglaries occurred in the city ofDiamond Bar. Although the residential burglaries continue to occur, itappears the saturation patrol significantly reduced the number of incidents. Between January 1, 2018 and January 29, 2018, (30) vehicle burglaries occurred in the city of Diamond Bar. Since the implementation of burglary 2- March6, 2018 suppression overtime between the dates of January 30, 2018 and February 23, 2018, (16) vehicle burglaries occurred in the city ofDiamond Bar. Although the vehicle burglaries continue to occur, itappears the saturation patrol significantly reduced the number of incidents.
