Following up on the above matter.
1. Please provide status on the City’s visual inspection.
1. Given the visual inspection and email below, does the City need to open up areas for further investigation as noted in a prior email from Mr. Tao? If so, the manager can coordinate
and assist.
1. What is the status on the appeal?
The HOA board is meeting Monday to approve contracts for roofing work. I’m attaching an email from their manager informing of the proposals up for approval and payment plan considerations.
Given this path, the HOA again ask the City to remove the red tags as the HOA undertakes efforts to address the conditions of the building.
While I can understand the City’s concerns in light of the Florida building collapse, the City’s action caused an avalanche of negative repercussions for the HOA, its members and residents.
As you may know, many of the residents have left and abandoned their units. The remaining residents are calling the place a ghost town. The HOA had to lay off its workers. Owners are
losing rental income and highly upset and threatening legal action against the HOA, City and anyone else they can blame. The HOA’s insurance will be cancelled next month if the red
tags remain. The City appeared to have jump the gun in red tagging the buildings without performing its own inspection and after Mr. Khatri clarified his report. Thus, the HOA and its
residents are hoping that the parties can have an orderly and coordinate effort to address the buildings with the red tags being removed.
Further, we liked to explore other options with the City to address the situation and funding needs. Could the home improvement program be applicable to this situation? https://www.diamondbarca.gov/1

And are there other means for the City to provide assistance.
We’re hopeful we can resolve this and address the repairs and HOA members’ needs before insurance is cancelled and litigation ensues.

Good Morning Cang-
The City is planning on having its engineer conduct a visual inspection tomorrow from 9am to 2pm. They will not be opening anything up for this inspection, just conducting a visual to
determine what areas do need to be opened up for more invasive investigation and testing. Since they will not be opening up, I don’t believe we’ll need anything from the HOA or property
management at this point. I just wanted to let you know about the planned inspection so you could advise management and to give you the opportunity to voice any objection.
