To determine the contracted price for these deleted cages, I summed up the total cages in Gabion Wall #3, placing a value for 12” high cages as 0.5 of the value of standard 24” high cages making up the majority of this Gabion Wall. As there are 225.5 (equivalent) units in the design on the approved plans, I divided the Lump Sum amount of $93,660 by 225.5 to get an “equivalent 24” cage” at $415.33 each. Then, I added (11) X $415.33 plus (41) X [415.33 divided by 2] for the 12” cages. The credit due the City adds up to $13,082.90 With the equivalent cage reduction of 31.5 cages, the construction time should be reduced. Can we get Danny to agree to “call it even” with less cages but more work as discussed this morning? With a small exception of MINIMAL construction supervision required for the item A-2, I have taken the awarded Contracts Bid Schedule prices and applied these to both additional quantities and deleted quantities of work. Hopefully, there is an extremely minimal need to get involved in “Negotiated Costs” dialogue. I have not determined the precise additional work days involved, but suggest perhaps NMT 10 working days would be warranted. Let me know what questions you may have.
