The City of Diamond Bar is in receipt of your 2023-032 request for the following public records pursuant to the California Public Records Act (“CPRA”) (Cal. Gov. Code section 6250 et
seq.):
“This is Daniel Lempres and Jason Fagone, reporters for the San Francisco Chronicle. Pursuant to our rights under the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6250 et seq.),
we request the following:
Any correspondence related to the California Voting Rights Act that has been received from, or sent to, either Kevin Shenkman or Scott Rafferty. Both are private attorneys. Shenkman
often uses the email address kshenkman@shenkmanhughes.com; Rafferty often uses the email address rafferty@gmail.com. This request includes emails, letters or other correspondence exchanged
between 2009 and the date this request is fulfilled.
This request reasonably describes identifiable public records or information produced therefrom, and we believe that there exists no express provision of law exempting such records from
disclosure. Accordingly, pursuant to Government Code section 6253(b), we ask that you make the records “promptly available for inspection.”
