Rough grading of the tract is now completed. This report presents our opinions resulting from these inspections and supplements our prior reports. Enclosed is the final As --Graded Geologic Map and selected cross - Sections. Cross --sections have been revised in those areas where major design changes have occurred during the progress of the grading. The revised sections reflect both the original design and the final grading configuration. The final compaction -report will be forwarded under separate cover. Boring Logs A through X, drilled during construction of the tract have been included with this report. The following reports have been submitted in conjunction with the development of this tract: E. L. Pearson & Associates 1-68-301-- 09 November 5, 1.970 Page 4 CONCLUSIONS AND RECO14MENDATIONS General. 1. I From a geologic standpoint, the subject tract is favorable and has a safe building area on each lot. Additional geo- logic review will be required in those instances where a grading permit is required or in special circumstances 05e Svperu Sdd Co»,pclGh^" where unusual building design warrants this review General A0-/ foundation recommendations for each lot will be included in the "Soil Engineering Report on Compaction Testing". 2. The geologic recommendations which we made have been followed. Cut Slopes 3. The cut slopes on the subject tract will perform. in a satis•- factory- r:::anner. Future cut slopes proposed for inffl_vi(9_ al_ lot development should be reviewed by an engineering geologist if they exceed three feet in vertical height. Cut slopes which would undercut bedding'or disturb existing stabilization measures as shot,Tn on the final_ "As -Graded" Geologic Map should be avoided. Restricted Use 4. Restricted -use areas have been established on Lots 15-17, 35-43, 46-55, 58--69 and 168-181. The revision of the restricted -use 6A line on Lots l", 43 and 46411D was necessary when additional data concerning the limits and depth of Qls-4 were obtained. See the As -Graded Geologic Plop. Lots 187 and 188 may require restricted -use areas on compI.e-- tion of a geologic investigation.. A complete geologic investi-- gation will be necessary prior to any grading operation on these lots. w Robert Stone & A ssvci tes F. L. Pearson and Associates 1--68--301-09 November 5, 1,970 Page 5 Sheer Kays and Buttresses 5. Shear keys have been construc•;.:ed. on Lots 47--55, 58-69 and r1.70-176. All shear l?;c y removals were inspected cnd app:r.aved by an engineering goologist prior:' to the placing of compacted fill. 6. Buttress fills have been placed alone. Steeplechase Lane adja- cent to Lots 11, 12 and 15-1.8 , Lot 44 adjacent to Rimf_ it e Lune and also al onq 1. agon Train Lane adjacent to Lots 70-74 and 76-80. Subsur.f_ace Drainage 7. Subdrains have been placed in all shear keys and buttresses except in the buttresses along Steeplechase adjacent to Lots 11, 12 and 15--18. The height and key -width of the SL'eep12Chr_i6e_ Laint drains; however, paved drainage terraces have been placed on top of the buttresses at the nal--ural--fill contact for the removal of water from the buttress area. Subdrains have been placed in canyons b•neath fills in Lots 104, 105, 1.09, :i.1.0 ; 113-115, 1-23 and 124. 71.1.1 subdrains were inspected by an engineering goologis t and roils engineer prior to placing compacted fill. Canyon Filling and1. Preparation 8. Fill has been placed in canyon bottoms in Lot 15 adjacent to Steeplechase Lane; Lots 19•-21, 74 and. 75 east of Wagon Train Lane; Lots 87-89 adjacent to Pocky Trail Road; Lots 103-105 between Kicking F:orse Drive and Rocky Trail_ Road, Lots 108 -1.10 E. L. Pearson & Associates November 5, 1970 1-68-301-09 Page 6 adjacent to Wagon Train Lane; in the area of Lots 111--117 , 12 3 - 125 and 162--1_G5, and portions of Lazy Meadow Drive. See the supervised compaction report for test results and foundation recommendations, 9. Canyon cleanouts were individually inspected by an engineering geologist prior to the placement of fill. Slide Removal 10. The upper portion of landslides was removed and recompacted on Lots 47-49 below Wagon Train Lane, Lots 77-79 above flagon Train Lane, and Lots 24-27 above Steeplechase Lane in order to provide a stable building site. Sewage Disposal 11. The tr_ar-t ;ill utilize se?=ers. With tbe- eXception of the force main excavation between Lots 155 and 156, set•,er alignments constructed along easements were mapped and inspected by an engineering geologist prior to backfilling. The force main excavation has not been made as of this date. The information obtained in. our inspections is shown on the attached. Geologic Map. The sewer alignments inspected to date are geologically favorable for the intended use. We will inspect and report on the force main excavation at a latex date. Offsite Gradi 12. Offsite grading completed in conjunction with adjacent tracts shall be -reported with those tracts except where this grading extends into Tract 30289. B. L. Pearson & Associates ]_-6B--301-09 November 5, 1970 Page 7 Planting 13. We recommend that the compacted fill slopes and cut slopes which expose deep soil cover be planted as soon as pract-i-- cable to minimize erosion. Deleted Canyon -Fill 14. A canyon fill shown between Lots 39 and 43 on the on gi-Wally approved grading plan was deleted during construction. This r fill was never on the base map for our geologic maps and isi not required from a. geologic vie`,-1point. Very truly yours, ROBERT STONE & ASSOCIATES,.INC. T1 orateE.
