It looks like equipment was driving over it. I'm not sure if the project would have had any reason to create this disturbance, so that's why I'm asking. It stood out to me as an area that could be vulnerable to erosion if it were to be disturbed again. However, if it's not related to this project then it shouldn't be a big deal for our purposes, and as long as there isn't continued driving it's probably not a long-term issue. The next few photos are definitely project-related and are of the area that was pulled out on the northern trail. The reason I'm pointing it out is because this doesn't match where I recall this being intended to be, I thought it was supposed to be further east along a wide section of road where there was enough area along the weedy shoulder to just clear and put this stuff. I thought I recalled that being the case from the original plans from two years ago as well as Dick Fisher's plans. This wasn't part of the acreage that we submitted, but seeing as it is primarily mustard I'm not sure it even needs to be included in the CSS total that we are responsible for. I think it's basically just mustard and there happened to be a couple native shrubs right off the road. Finally, the remaining photos are of disturbance along the last several hundred feet of road on the northern loop trail, on its eastern side. I'm not sure if this is project related, but aesthetically it's very unappealing, which is not a bio issue but which may matter to trail users, and there are a couple areas where the disturbance is pretty much directly next to that blue line stream and only separated by a matter of feet. If this is related to our project you may want to get that cleaned up sooner rather than later, I think we just want to make sure that Fritz has no reasons to call anything out when he does come out here. Note that with the exception of the shade structure area, I did not include the "problem" photos in the first link since they are outside of the project's scope and I don't know if they're related to us or to other work out here.
