HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE_ Old Canyon Loop Trail - Redevelopment StatusGood Morning Commissioner Wong, Thank you for sharing this information. I do not follow social media; therefore, this is new to me. That being said, Ms. Smith and I spoke at length last week about the project. Overall, we are in the second week of grading portions of the trail and expect the grading to last approximately one to two more weeks, followed by the installation of project amenities leading to project completion in late January 2023. My suggestion is you provide the link below and my direct phone number to those who may have specific questions. I can assure you, the City has very specific mitigation measures that include on-site biologists and Native American Monitors every day to ensure we are respecting the native habitat. The City receives and reviews very thorough daily reports and photos from these project members. We are committed to a minimal impact and restoring the trails to a condition better than before. The link below provides links to many of the project’s documents, but I would be happy to spend time discussing further if a resident needs additional information. Just checking to see if you have a brief summary of the status of the loop trail redevelopment project and are able to address these concerns? We recently received some complaints from folks that are concerned with the endangerment of wildlife species in that area as a result of the project. Please note photos and comments from Facebook below. Thanks much. Best Regards, Andrew Wong Parks & Recreation Commission
