Hi Stacey,
Please find attached my survey report for focused bird surveys that I was contracted to perform for the City of Diamond
Bar this year. This is the report that I submitted to the City and that they approved for agency submittal. The report
addresses the presence/absence of California Gnatcatcher and Cactus Wren; feel free to skip past the Cactus Wren
sections and focus on just the gnatcatcher portions.
For your reference, my survey notification was submitted to you on May 8, 2020. As a clarification, my notification
stated that pending on-site evaluations at the time of the surveys, we may avoid walking off-trail in the SE corner of the
survey area due to dense, overgrown mustard cover obstructing visibility and creating difficult conditions. In actuality,
we found it wasn’t as bad anymore by the time surveys occurred and we did intensively survey this area after all (this is
the area mapped on Figure 4 of the report as CAGN Territories #2 and #3).
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the survey results.
Thanks,
Ryan
